About

During this unprecedented period of closure during the COVID-19 Pandemic most of us are feeling rather lost and apprehensive. I am devastated to learn that it is likely to be some time before we able to rehearse, worship and share Anglican sacred music together and wanted to provide a platform to share links to online activities and choirs, recordings, downloadable manuscripts and information to support - and perhaps entertain! - fellow sacred music lovers.

I have blogged prolifically for many years, initially over at Musings of a Twentieth Century Stay at Home Mum before branching out. Many of these articles went on to be published on other parenting and special needs platforms and writing became something of a hobby.

Whilst bringing up my young family I thoroughly enjoyed creating my own space on the web, whilst keeping my brain active!

My second blog is The Recipe Resource, which has by far my largest readership. This is for those catering for children on exclusion diets, something I know far more about than I would like to! It also contains some opinion pieces regarding living with allergies and some factual information to help families.

Lastly I had a bit of fun with Dorothy Whiskers for a time, an online magazine for 6-10 year olds. Life got in the way however, and my passion for choral music took over!

I'm a former teacher, Cambridge History graduate and I am rather obsessed with choral music. I've sung in Anglican church choirs for years, with a necessary hiatus whilst parenting small children! I currently sing with our civic church choir at St Mary le Tower , I am also a member of their Chamber Choir and a London based choir called St. Alphage Chorus. I earned my RSCM Gold Award last year and am hoping to get more involved in the RSCM in future.

Devastated that rehearsals and services are currently suspended, I'm keen to support the local choir community and beyond, hence the reason for a fourth blog, Viral Music!
